(Considering the fact that I was not able to fulfill most of my goals last semester such as understand 80% of the animes I am watching or engage in conversations with strangers, I would like to try to be modest this time)
- I want to be able to talk to a Japanese person for 20 minutes on a non-engaging topic such as hobbies, schedules, weather, Princeton, etc.
- I want to understand the topic of a conversation between two native speakers and generally what each person's claims are
- I want to learn more vocabulary that is used in everyday speech between teenagers such as girlfriends/boyfriends, parties, classes, etc.
- I want to have a slightly less noticeble foreign accent when I talk in Japanese
- Go to Japanese table at least every other week, although I will probably come more frequently and talk to the students there
- Talk to my friends who have taken more advanced Japanese classes
- Go to Shibata sensee's office at least 4 times this semester
- Talk to the exchange grad students that I see so often in the dining halls in Japanese
- Watch anime every other week and identify single words by matching them to their translation in the subtitles
- Anime shadow while doing this
- Eavesdrop on conversations between Japanese people in the East Asian Library
